In Camera ... Sun dogs over Another Place

Driving back to Crosby a few days ago I noticed a bright sun dog ( the rainbow coloured effect in the sky) to the right of the setting sun. This lasted some time as high level cirrus clouds slowly worked their way east over the Irish Sea. By the time I arrived at the beach there was another one visible to the left of the sun.
These rainbow effects are caused by the sunlight refracting off ice particles high in the atmosphere and I added this shot to my collection of unusual skies over the beach.

News on the 2011 Calendar

I have just finished checking the proofs for the new calendar for 2011 and it is now in the hands of the printers and hopefully will be available by the middle of the month. I will let you know when it is actually in the shops and available from the web site.
