In Camera ... The sculptural beauty of snow II

Down at Crosby beach the wind torn snow clung to the sides of the iron men, highlighting their form, creating a silvery metallic sheen on the dull rusting iron surface. The scattered light fills in the shadows and it looks as though I have used extra lighting on some these shots although they were taken on a gloomy overcast afternoon.

Eventually a weak sun struggled through the thinning cloud creating an eerie atmosphere to the already unearthly scene.

I love the way the snow clings to the trees, highlighting their shape and form, etched against the background.

In Camera ... Snowfall

Friday 18th January saw heavy snow falling over many parts of the country, here at Crosby, just north of Liverpool we had around 6 - 10 cm fall during the morning. These two shots were taken around 9am when the snowfall was at its heaviest.
